Hayden Daley, age 28, of Deer Park, was indicted on multiple counts of rape and related charges in Suffolk County Court on Monday, Feb. 26.

Prosecutors said Daley began a sexual relationship with the girl in May 2023 while working as a child support specialist at WellLife Network in Dix Hills, a residential facility for children operated by the New York State Office of Mental Health.

Over the course of several months, he subjected the victim to numerous acts of sexual abuse both inside and outside of the group home, according to prosecutors.

The abuse allegedly continued even after Daley learned that he was under investigation for sexual abuse and quit his job at the WellLife Network.

Prosecutors allege that he drove to the group home on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024 and attempted to pick up the victim in his car but an employee called the police. He was arrested shortly after officers arrived.

“Children, particularly those who are vulnerable due to their life circumstances, deserve the utmost protection,” said Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond Tierney.

“My office is committed to holding accountable anyone who abuses their position of authority to sexually exploit others.”

In court Monday, Daley was arraigned on the following charges:

  • Six counts of rape (felonies)
  • Eleven counts of criminal sexual act (felonies)
  • Two counts of sexual misconduct (misdemeanors)
  • Endangering the welfare of a child (misdemeanor)

He was ordered held at the Suffolk County jail on $160,000 bond and is due back in court on Monday, April 1.
